Today Oliver and I went to see "The Red Balloon" at the Astor Theatre. It's a film from my childhood made in 1956 and I was glad to introduce Oliver to it. I like to show Oliver important works. He gets a lot out of things I show him and years later I'll hear him make reference to them in conversation or in his work.Of course he is making works of his own and, with me, kids books that his own children will enjoy. I think he likes the process of creating them and then hearing responses from the public. It will be fun bringing the next one to life "The Dragon's Lie".
