Naked Penguin is launched

Tonight Oliver experienced his first book launch. Many came from South Australia to be there including his good and talented friend Dan. His mum and all his four brothers and one sister we there. My mum and dad made a 4 day holiday out of it. The ABC shop in Chadstone made us feel special and Craig Smith officially launched the Penguin.

I really should have made a few notes instead of speaking off the cuff. There were so many important things to say that I feel I did not express. Things like how wonderful and rare it is for a father and son to collaborate on a children's book. How by standing on our shoulders our children can see better for both of us. How each generation betters the last by learning from the former and adding on.

I would have loved to have mentioned many things that I though of in the shower in the days leading up to tonight. Just a few notes to make sure I covered everything would have been wise.... next time

We now have our sights on our dragon book due December 15th. The creative challenges that seem tough now will melt under our blow torch of persistence. Oliver has learnt much doing this book. The next will show this.
